Operations and Endoscopy

If you are having a private colonoscopy or operation, this will usually be done at the Nuffield Health Shrewsbury Hospital.


You will need to take bowel preparation the day before a colonoscopy, we will give you detailed instructions as to what you can eat and drink.  


If you are having an operation you will need to starve before surgery. We will give you detailed instructions before you come in to hospital.

Most gallbladder operations are now performed laparoscopically.

Gallstones can cause pain, jaundice, an infection in the gallbladder or pancreatitis (an inflamed pancreas)
